Optimistic Even in the Face of Reality

There are people who say I am a Pollyanna. To them I say, “Thank you. Yes, I am a Pollyanna.”

Optimistic even in the face of RealityThe world is filled with people who can only think and speak about the gloom and doom of society. These same people lament the state of affairs instead of doing something to create the change they want to see in the world. Instead they add to the problem by complaining, criticizing and – through their energy – perpetuate disdain for life.

Then there are people who see the pain, sadness and tragedies in life and will shake their heads with resignation. They sit back and say, “Life is what it is” or “there is nothing that can be done.” You know, I often wonder if these people even bother to pray for a happy, healthy world.

I see my world through the eyes of love. I can see the good or potential good in ALL people. My world is filled with people who are loving, caring, compassionate and giving. People who strive to live life in the best way for themselves, their families and friends. People who are looking to be instruments of change and create a world that is united in love.

Yes, I am a Pollyanna type and MY world is a better place for it.
